There is a special feeling, that of belonging to a locality, a context in constant opposition. The rural is so present in its forgotten state, where the procedures of production seem to be automatically upheld by some not out-of-this-world force. The rural is a complex, intertwined and multilayered space, a place for collaboration, community and joy.
Through the melding of personal and universal references, a roof box acts as a cornerstone to the installation. By embracing a handmade aesthetic combined with a slick finish, it seeks to channel both the high and low and the intricate interconnected system that is the countryside.
Jens Masimov (b. 1993, Hedemora, Dalarna) is a multimedia artist based in Stockholm. Through immersive installations, he explores the personal and universal within a framework of ritualistic distortion.
