Memories of Spaces
Archives consist of fragments of lives and pieces of time; memories organised neatly. They are never complete, and can never restore, but hopefully, they can provide a productive space for discussion.
In the built environment, spaces have differing degrees of permanence. They are documented in various ways and to different extents. Some of them are completely lost. In my degree project, I initiate an archive of these lost spaces.
In the manner of a detective, I search for evidence of these various vanished spaces. The evidence strengthens their fading existence; however, no archive will restore them.
