The art subject and it's unimportance
Over the years I’ve spent at Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design, many lessons have been learnt that I’ll be bringing out into the real world (no, Konstfack is not the real world, take my word for it!). While I myself now know how important it is to get the chance to learn visual literacy and the language that lets us express ourselves without words, not everyone knows — very few actually.
I have witnessed our school system placing less emphasis on the importance of our creative subjects. In my degree project, I have attempted to develop a solution for this. Through finding out what entrepreneurial learning is and how it can be combined with art, I hope to tell a story of why we need more and not less hours in the art classroom.
