Metamorphosis - from plant fibers to spatial design
My degree project is based on my fascination with paper. How the material has an ability to change character depending on how it is lit and how the surface, colour and fibre content can alter is something I find interesting.
In Björhövda outside Norrtälje, I have gathered fibres from leaves, seed pods and the stems of plants which bloomed last year. I have examined how I can work with local materials and let these control the outcome and be a vital part of the design process.
What qualities can different plants generate and how can the material that I make be part of a spatial design are questions that I have been seeking answers to in this project.
