I dig like a bark beetle, passages between me and the forest
My degree project is an exploration of the forest glade. By forest glade, I mean not only the actual physical place but also a state of mind, a mental place, which I strongly associate with the forest. This mental place can be described as a deep inner peace and acceptance — a timeless presence liberated from self-consciousness, rationality and norm.
The project’s process has been shaped by a search for ways to experience this even outside the forest and a desire to free my creative process from previously learned patterns and ideas. With the forest glade present in my thoughts, I have worked unconditionally and intuitively to potentially create a breeding ground for something visually unpredictable and symbolic to emerge from.
