The tender mother is a graphic novel about breastfeeding. It takes on the subject from a personal, historical, cultural and political perspective. What does it mean to breastfeed your child? What does it mean if you cannot, or don’t want to? Who nurses whom and how has this change throughout history? This comic is a personal narrative around my own experiences of breastfeeding, as well as looking at this essential part of parenthood from an outside view.
