{"id":568,"date":"2022-04-24T20:16:57","date_gmt":"2022-04-24T18:16:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/konstfack2022.se\/?p=568"},"modified":"2022-04-24T20:18:24","modified_gmt":"2022-04-24T18:18:24","slug":"malin-glannestrand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/konstfack2022.se\/en\/master-en\/masd\/malin-glannestrand\/","title":{"rendered":"Malin Gl\u00e4nnestrand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My experience is that textiles in spatial and architectural contexts are often something\u00a0added\u00a0afterwards to\u00a0adjust\u00a0things that the\u00a0building process\u00a0has not\u00a0considered, such as sound and light or at least decoration.\u00a0But other\u00a0materials such as glass have an obvious position and\u00a0part in\u00a0the definition of that space. Can our\u00a0valuation\u00a0of the\u00a0textiles\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0room be due to a hierarchical\u00a0ordering of\u00a0different materials?<\/p>\n<p>In order\u00a0to question\u00a0our perception of the potential of textiles,\u00a0for my degree project,\u00a0I have chosen to work with glass\u00a0while\u00a0using\u00a0textile techniques.\u00a0Employing\u00a0materials such as fibreglass, window glass, copper wire and carbon fibre, I have\u00a0used knitting, weaving and sewing. The objects were then merged in a fusing kiln into stable components at 800-900 degrees Celsius.
