The former shape is still present but only hinted at.<\/p>\n<p>I ask myself if the object remains a bowl after this sequence of events, or does\u00a0the now less practical function turn it into a sculpture.<\/p>\n<p>Since this new sculptural state also has a function, this process is a way of transforming the object from having one function to another.<\/p>\n<p>My degree project investigates the transformation of material and functions. It is a deep dive into the compliance requirements of contemporary design and where my work is situated within that field. I have examined the fine line between sculpture and functional object in the context of a Baroque table setting.
