Since ancient times, tales such as <i>Leda and the Swan<\/i>,\u00a0in which\u00a0Zeus takes the appearance of a swan to seduce the maiden Leda,\u00a0show\u00a0that the anthropomorphic figure has long been sexually charged.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas Zeus sheds his divine form to mimic a lowly swan, for many furries the fursuit is a natural extension of the self, or rather, wearing the fursuit\u00a0is an act of\u00a0ascent\u00a0towards the\u00a0\u201cideal\u201d\u00a0self. But this appearance must also represent the anthropomorphic form to others, and as such the fursuit becomes an object of craftsmanship that aims to recreate this concept of the ideal self, the\u00a0\u201cfursona\u201d.
