By looking at my everyday life, I try to understand the very strange time we are living in right now. I observe connections between societal structures, behaviours and aesthetics.<\/p>\n
In My Life as a Sausage in an Ultra-Polished Casing<\/em>, I use the sausage\/human hybrid as a metaphor for living in a time in which we have managed to make most things about turning a profit. Which brings the insight that I myself am some sort of product. <\/p>\n A big part of my own and others\u2019 daily lives is about polishing our identities and working to both \u2018fit in\u2019 and \u2018stand out\u2019 in a market. In the world of products, it is the surface that we communicate with \u2014 something that I think forms the basis for our contemporary focus on the superficial. <\/p>\n I give form to these thoughts and attitudes through an installation consisting of sculpture and video. The result is a depiction of the sausage\/human hybrid in everyday situations.<\/p>\n In short, my degree project is about how it is to live as a product in an environment in which everything and everyone are also products. The polished is the norm in both aesthetics and behaviour.
