Homework
Homework: a piece of furniture for the home to interact, play and exercise with.
In Sweden, we sit an average of 10 hours per day. This sedentary lifestyle carries a lot of risks, such as cardiovascular disease, increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat and abnormal cholesterol levels.
Homework tries to nudge us (those who sit too much) to move a little bit more in our everyday life. The objects are inspired by climbing holds, crash pads and bouldering.
The aesthetic is derived from the hand axe, a prehistoric stone tool with two sides that is the longest used tool in human history. It is usually made from roughly chipped flint or chert, pear-shaped and tapered to an even point.
