Tova Tilliander

Tova Tilliander (b. 1998, Stockholm, Sweden) is a visual artist who works with painting. Her work is based on celebrity photography, film stills, photographs found in porn magazines, and private photo albums borrowed from friends and family. Nostalgia, desire and idolisation are frequently recurring themes in the artist’s paintings. The photographs act as projection screens for dreaming, like posters that one can stare at for hours, in an attempt to lay claim to another reality.
