Sedimenting
Through ceramic amphora turned on the wheel, I demonstrate a process, a closeness to my material and my practice. I adhere to a pottery tradition and create my own version of a vessel that has been made for centuries. Nature has a strong presence. The reuse of materials that can be considered to be already consumed has been my driving force. I have mixed in my own clay. Cleaned wood ash that I use in my glazes. Created tools in metal and wood that I use in my shaping process. Finally, I paint by brush in various materials to decorate my works. I’ve tried to raise my gaze, look at what is around me and use what I have in my surroundings to create something beautiful.
